People like….Trish Winchester
Trish is our New Product Development and Projects Manager or NPD Manager for short! Trish joined the team in 2006 as Technical Manager then moved across into product development as her job title suggests. Part of her work includes the preparation of samples for new product ideas and co-ordinating new product packaging through the artwork and copy brief stages ready for product launch. Her role is very hands-on and diverse – from supporting third party technical audits to packaging optimisation trials which challenge the performance effects of reducing packaging in terms of film gauge (thickness), a good example of how the commitment to environmental sustainability is being delivered.
Trish previously worked in the food industry for McIntosh of Dyce as a National Account Manager working with supermarket chains on branded and own label products then latterly as Technical Director taking responsibility for all food safety and quality. Working for an independent dedicated organic company appealed to me as you feel you can make a difference. There are real opportunities in the organic market and TIO are passionate about their products, said Trish.
Listing her interesting experiences include – as keyboard player in a Scottish band ,getting the opportunity to visit South America on several occasions to play at the Caledonian Society Celebrations. These trips helped raise funds for the orphans in Venezuela and Bogotá.- A truly humbling but inspiring experience !
Having a young son has also helped Trish at work too - She has been able to access valuable feedback from carrying out development ‘taste panel’ trials at local schools and nurseries. As an adult you have a perception of what you believe a child will like or dislike but they can surprise you with their preferences and feedback so always be prepared for the unexpected !!!
