People like….Hugh Beattie
Hugh is one of the tractor drivers on the Mid Coul Farm and has worked there for 4 years and is their foremost expert on the satellite navigation systems in the tractors.
He went to school in Nairn and is the son of a local farmer. He carries out all the processes that the tractors are involved in from destoning, harrowing, bedding up, sowing, burn weeding, hand weeding with the NUTs machine, harvesting and many more.
Hugh enjoys socialising and a having a few jars with his friends and is also a member of the local young farmers in Nairn. As well as driving the various tractors he gets involved with handling and feeding of the livestock which he also enjoys.
He has just taken charge of one of the latest New Holland tractors (unfortunately not the one in the photo) which has an even more sophisticated satellite guidance system allowing Hugh to concentrate on the working of the equipment attached to the tractor which almost 'drives along by itself'
