Flora Fraser stock purchasing controller NEXT

We treat all our people as our extended, and large, family. From the office to the field, you’ll meet real people with real lives and real goals.

People like….Flora Fraser known as Flo

Flo has worked in the food sector since 1978 and at Tio since November 2004, progressing from part time stock controller (the part-time bit lasting only 4 weeks) to full time stock/purchasing controller in 2007.

Although the job has remained basically the same it has grown and evolved with the company. Everyday challenges are what keep the job fresh and interesting, from sourcing packaging for our customers to finding someone who can repair a tractor door!

“Since joining Tio there have been many changes, we have moved through three different dry stores in as many years. The investment in new equipment in both pack house and wash line plus an additional site in Boston has been immense and gives us the opportunity to bring on new customers. An integrated computer system will soon be on board – fantastic! For the future I envisage that Tio will be producing prepared vegetables be it fresh, frozen or within ready meals”.

When Flo’s not working, grandchildren and gardening are high on the list, followed by socialising with friends and colleagues. When asked what makes Tio special?

“The people” was the reply.

Tio Good Causes Totaliser

When produce doesn’t meet the high standards set for pre-packaged product, it can still be eaten and enjoyed. So we don’t waste it. We bag it up and sell it with all proceeds going to charities and good causes nominated by our staff. To date we have raised (drum roll please…..)

In February 2008 we donated £210 to Christian Aid.

We are also supporting our local Rotary Club in their efforts to raise £14,000 for the Wheelchair Foundation.
