The partnership between us, Tesco and the end consumer continues to strengthen, based on honest communication and complete transparency in production.
We are in regular contact with Tesco and welcome their staff to our farms on field visits and consultations. We are both committed to ensuring the highest possible standards of quality and availability are consistently met. This allows us to supply Tesco almost all year round from our farms in the UK, with only a six week window in the year when we import from our farms in Spain and Italy.

Our packaging allows you to see where your carrots have come from! Have a look at the bottom right corner of your bag of Tesco Organic Carrots:
The area highlighted above contains all the information you need to establish which farm your carrots came from, when they were picked, which production line they passed through and even what time they were packaged.
The code on your bag of organic carrots will look something like this: HD043624 15:52B. This breaks down as follows: HD - Tio's production identity code; 043624 - the batch code. This may be preceded by a letter which corresponds to the farm the carrots were grown on; 15:52 - the time of production; and B - the production line they passed along
What does this all mean?
Tesco and TIO are committed to organic production. It’s not a fad. For many people, it’s now a way of life. We maintain good soil fertility so that it can supply all the nutrients required to produce delicious, healthy foods. This involves rotating stock on fields, including livestock, and every stage of our processing is guaranteed to meet all organic standards.
