Organic Parsnips
We can supply washed and topped parsnips when they are in season and can provide them packaged in VFF (vertical form fill) bags, lined trays and up to 1 Tonne bags. We can also size grade them to custoemr requirements. Parsnips are good source of potassium, folic acid and dietary fibre. Similar in size and texture to a carrot but much sweeter.
They are delicous glazed with honey and roasted in the oven for approximately 40 minutes in a 200*C Oven.
For boiling, 10-15 minutes depending on the size and whether you like them a little al dente or not.
Storage
Wrapped in kitchen paper and a plastic bag they should keep for a fortnight in the vegetable drawer of the fridge. In the freezer, having been peeled, cubed and part-boiled for 3-5 mins they'll be good for up to eight months, and pureed for 10 months. If you've grown them yourself, leave them in the ground until you're ready to use them.
