Say hello to….
Brian Hepburn – Mid Coul Farms (M)
Brian farms over 2,000 acres of prime maritime organic land in the mild climate of the Moray Forth. That’s in Scotland if you were one of those not listening in geography lessons. Brian grows organic carrots and parsnips and drives a big blue tractor.
Willie Mitchell – A & A Carrots (A)
Willie Mitchell is a very experienced organic carrot grower. Based in Aberdeenshire, he farms 250 acres of
very productive organic land, ideally suited for growing root crops. He understands that attention to detail is
the key to producing the higWillie farms over 250 acres of organic land in Aberdeenshire that is just perfect for root vegetables. He’s a very experienced organic farmer and insists on only using farming techniques that protects and enhances the countryside around him. Good man!
James Webb – J W Spencer Farms (J)
James grows organic parsnips and carrots from his farmland near Thetford in Norfolk. He only supplies Tesco and insists on the highest standards of farm management, husbandry and proper stewardship of the countryside. So it’s no wonder he’s part of the TIO family.
Domenico Fidanza – Biofucino ( Italy )
Ciao Domenico! His organic farm is 100km east of Rome from where he gives us fantastic carrots, leeks, potatoes and purple sprouting broccoli. With a high altitude and cooler climate, the Fucino region ensures a longer and less stressful carrot season than other Mediterranean areas – bellissimo!
(M), (A), (J)….. what does it all mean?
During the UK season (July to April), you can identify which farm your carrots came from by the reference letter code – either M, A or J – in the bottom right hand corner of the pack beside the Display Until code.
